SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. — Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III will preside over U.S. Transportation Command’s change of command ceremony Oct. 4 at 10:00 a.m. CDT. During the ceremony, Air Force Lt. Gen. Randall Reed will assume command from Air Force Gen. Jacqueline Van Ovost. Reed will receive his fourth star preceding the ceremony. Van Ovost will be retiring after 36 years of honorable service.
USTRANSCOM is a warfighting combatant command charged with deploying and sustaining the joint force by air, land, and sea. USTRANSCOM directs mobility operations to support American interests globally.
