GHC transition period paused after U.S. Court of Federal Claims filing
SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. (March 23, 2022) – U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) voluntarily has agreed to a stay of performance for the Global Household Goods Contract (GHC). This action comes after Connected Global Solutions, LLC (CGSL) filed a complaint on March 14 in the U.S. Court of Federal Claims (COFC) challenging award of the GHC.
Compliance with the stay of performance means the GHC transition period, which began on March 4, 2022, will be put on hold beginning March 23, 2022, until COFC litigation concludes, which could take several months. The command assesses that voluntarily agreeing to the stay of performance reduces the length of the litigation process, which is in the best interest of the program and customers.
If the court finds in USTRANSCOM’s favor, the transition period will resume as soon as allowable at the point in which it was paused. If the court finds in CGSL’s favor, USTRANSCOM will comply with any directed remedies.
“USTRANSCOM remains committed to delivering a better overall moving experience for service members, DOD employees and their families, who are the driving force behind our efforts,” said Air Force Brig. Gen. Joel Safranek, director of USTRANSCOM’s Defense Personal Property Management Office.
