SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. (USTCNS) --- U.S. Transportation Command released its 1999 Annual Command Report in electronic format on Wednesday.

The report highlights USTRANSCOM's role providing defense transportation during 1999.

According to Air Force Gen. Charles T. "Tony" Robertson Jr., the year kept the command heavily engaged.

"Last year saw an unprecedented level of activity for the Defense Transportation System (DTS), not only in the number of transportation activities we were engaged in, but also in the complexity of those missions," Robertson said in the document's introduction.

The report provides a comprehensive overview of the USTRANSCOM and its service component's activity during the year.

The service components include Military Traffic Management Command (Army), Military Sealift Command (Navy), and Air Mobility Command (Air Force).

In its 127 pages, focus is given to exercises; operations and contingencies; initiatives; status of the Transportation Working Capital Fund; the future of global transportation; transportation information technology; and reference data.

As he closed the document's introduction, Robertson expressed confidence in the organization to meet future challenges.

"USTRANSCOM's proven track record, commitment to innovation, and devotion to quality will ensure we remain a world-class strategic transportation provider…" Robertson stated.

To receive an electronic copy of the report, link to the following address: http://public.transcom.mil/annualRpt/annualReport.html or send an email request to annual.report@hq.transcom.mil. USTRANSCOM will issue a hardcopy of the report later this spring.
