National Defense Transportation Day 2000
SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. (USTCNS) --- On 19 May, 2000 the transportation community celebrates National Defense Transportation Day as part of National Transportation Week.
U.S. Transportation Command, through our transportation component commands, Military Traffic Management Command, Military Sealift Command, and Air Mobility Command, continues to provide our nation with a robust, dedicated force which responds to world-wide missions on a daily basis.
We also recognize that our ability to operate the Defense Transportation System is inextricably linked to our successful relationships with our industry and government partners outside of the Department of Defense.
Whether by surface, sea or air, the nation can rest assured that all of you are steadfast in your commitment to providing the world's finest transportation support anytime, anywhere.
I salute you on your devotion to excellence and to the professionalism you exhibit in service to the nation.
