AMC announces 1999 Air Force Weather Award winner
SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. (USTCNS) --- Air Mobility Command recently announced the following 1999 Air Force Weather Award winner.
Staff Sgt. Valerie A. Smith, 92nd Air Refueling Wing, Fairchild Air Force Base, Wash., is the recipient of the 1999 Pierce Award as the Outstanding Air Force Weather Noncommissioned Officer of the Year.
Smith set the highest standards possible with her outstanding support during Operation Allied Force and her superb accomplishment as a weather forecaster, her nomination package said. Her flawless execution of the unit's weather radar, training, security and mobility programs demonstrates the high degree of technical knowledge required by today's NCOs.
