Army Maj. Gen. John H. Stanford

SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. (USTCNS) --- U.S. Transportation Command announced a dedication ceremony for a former staff director here today.

In a June 5 ceremony, Gen. Charles T. "Tony" Robertson, commander in chief of USTRANSCOM, and commander of Air Mobility Command, will dedicate a major conference room in the name of the late Army Maj. Gen. John H. Stanford.

Pat Stanford, Stanford's widow, will attend the dedication and will assist Robertson in a ribbon-cutting.

Stanford served as director of plans and resources from 1989-1991, and as acting deputy commander in chief of USTRANSCOM in 1991.

Escorts will provide building entry for personnel who do not have entry badges. Event attendees may park in a designated area near the northeast entrance (next to clothing sales).

The event will include comments by Robertson, a video of Stanford's speech at the 1996 Democratic National Convention, and a tour of the new room.
