The 50th anniversary of America's participation in the Korean War is being commemorated over the next three years. USTRANSCOM was named an official commemorative community by the Department of Defense.
USTRANSCOM will hold several events over that period and is developing a list of veterans in the southern Illinois and Missouri areas who would like to be notified of upcoming events.
The kickoff event is scheduled for June 28 at USTRANSCOM. The event begins at 2:00 p.m. in the Seay auditorium in USTRANSCOM's building 1900 (headquarters building).
Veterans are encouraged to contact Lou Terry at the USTRANSCOM public affairs office at (618) 229-4828 (or by email at USTCPA@hq.transcom.mil) to be added to the mailing list.
