Led by Air Force Gen. Charles T. "Tony" Robertson, commander in chief of USTRANSCOM and commander of Air Mobility Command, more than 80 senior officers and civilians from each of the transportation component commands and USTRANSCOM converged on Scott Air Force Base.
In addition to AMC, the Navy's Military Sealift Command and the Army's Military Traffic Management Command are the components of USTRANSCOM.
Among the many component-specific topics and command-wide initiatives, the leaders made presentations over a wide array of defense transportation issues:
· Improving customer relations
· Access to commercial surface transportation
· Infrastructure issues
· Readiness
· Financial management
· Aircraft systems
· Chief Information Officer initiatives
Representing MSC was its commander, Vice Adm. Gordon Holder, and MTMC's commander Maj. Gen. Kenneth L. Privratsky represented his organization. Also attending were Army Lt. Gen. Daniel G. Brown, deputy commander in chief, USTRANSCOM, and Air Force Lt. Gen. Ronald C. Marcotte, vice commander of AMC.
USTRANSCOM is one of the nine U.S. military unified commands and is headquartered at Scott AFB, Ill. USTRANSCOM provides Air, Land and Sea transportation for the Department of Defense in peace and in war and is supported by Navy, Air Force, Army, Marine, and Coast Guard personnel.
