USTRANSCOM Marines to celebrate Marine Corps 225th birthday
SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. (USTCNS) --- U.S. Transportation Command Marines will celebrate the 225th birthday of the Marine Corps in a ceremony it was announced here today.
The ceremony, hosted by Col. John Pomfret, is scheduled for Nov. 7, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., in USTRANSCOM's Seay Auditorium. Refreshments will follow the ceremony.
All USTRANSCOM Marines, retired and former Marines, and friends of the Corps are invited to attend.
USTRANSCOM has 22 Marines assigned.

The Marine Corps was established in 1775 by the Continental Congress in Philadelphia by a resolution stating that "two Battalions of Marines be raised" for service. Since that time, Marines have contributed in every conflict in which America has participated.
