MTMC quality awards emphasize defense transportation service
ALEXANDRIA, Va. (USTCNS) --- All Department of Defense-approved transportation providers are eligible for the Military Traffic Management Command's 2000 Quality Awards.
To be eligible, a firm must have demonstrated sustained exceptional performance for Department of Defense shipments during 2000. The transportation provided can be in any mode or service.
Nominations are encouraged from all Department of Defense shippers and should include a cover sheet with a brief, one-page narrative justification. The nomination must include a description of the firm's responsiveness to military requirements and the potential for wider applicability of their innovations.
A panel of MTMC Headquarters transportation specialists will evaluate each nomination on the following factors:
* Customer Service: Quality of communications, efficiency of service, satisfaction of special needs, resolution of customer needs, teamwork, professionalism and appearance, overall service and accomplishments.
* Innovation: Improvement of service quality and cost savings.
* Scope of Contribution: Local impact and wider applicability.
Nominations should be submitted by Nov. 8 to:
