USTRANSCOM Navy officer nominated for one-star promotion

WASHINGTON (USTCNS) --- Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the president nominated Navy Captain Donna L. Crisp for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half).

The promotion is subject to U.S. Senate confirmation.

Crisp is currently serving as executive assistant to the deputy commander in chief, U. S. Transportation Command, Scott AFB, Ill.

She has held a variety of command and staff positions including director, Manpower, Personnel, and Quality, (J1) and director of staff, USTRANSCOM; commanding officer, Personnel Support Activity, Norfolk, Va.; director, Distribution Management and Control Division, Bureau of Naval Personnel, Washington; and commanding officer, Naval consolidated Brig, Miramar, Calif. among others.

Donna L. Crisp is the daughter of Frank and Gloria Chesus of Redlands, Calif.

Crisp's awards include the Legion of Merit with two gold stars, Meritorious Service Medal, with two gold stars, Navy Commendation Medal, and Navy Achievement Medal.

She is also a graduate of the Defense Public Affairs Officer Course, U.S. Air Force Public Communications Graduate School (University of Oklahoma), and the Department of Justice Senior Leadership School.

Crisp holds a bachelor's degree from California State University at Long Beach.
