Military Spouse Day 2001
Throughout history, military spouses have provided the foundation upon which our nation's military strength is built. Their innumerable contributions are most often completed out of the spotlight, without an expectation of personal recognition-putting them among our quiet heroes.
It's not often that we take time to express our gratitude to them for their dedication, unwavering support and the personal sacrifices they make each day which enable us to concentrate on our mission. Each of them plays a crucial role in the success of United States Transportation Command.
I encourage commanders at every level to provide personal thanks and plan events for spouse recognition. I extend my personal thanks to every spouse of our Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and Coast Guard team for their commitment to our national defense.
