Top military, civilians of the year named at USTRANSCOM
In a ceremony held Jan. 9, Maj. Gen. Carlos “Butch” Pair, USTRANSCOM chief of staff, awarded five military members and three civilians the honors. The ceremony was attended by 200 of their peers.
Senior Airman Chad Bryant, residing at Scott Air Force Base, was selected Junior Servicemember of the Year; Tech. Sgt. Joseph Hofmann, Scott Air Force Base, Servicemember of the Year; Master Sgt., Jonathan Bey, Scott Air Force Base, Senior Servicemember of the Year; Capt. Lester Coles, Belleville, Company Grade Officer of the Year; and Lt. Col. Melvin Holland, O’Fallon, Field Grade Officer of the Year.
Civilians honored were Nicole Mason, Sparta, Civilian of the Year, Category I; Charles Mahr, Belleville, Civilian of the Year, Category II; and Karyl Reckamp, O’Fallon, Civilian of the Year, Category III.
“This is only a sample of the outstanding talent we have everywhere in the command,” Pair said. “The entire command is a winner from their hard work.”
