Information technology firm honors MTMC IT professional
Ursula Loy, Chief, Plans and Technology Division, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Information Management, received the award from Pragmatics, Inc. of McLean, Va., Mar. 25th.
Pragmatics founder, Long Nguyen, President and CEO, presented a plaque to Loy with her co-workers, and MTMC leadership assembled.
“We at Pragmatics wanted to recognize Ms. Loy’s unfailing dedication and contribution to the long-term success of small and minority owned businesses as well as to MTMC and DoD as a whole,” Nguyen said.
“Ursula is an outstanding manager. I’m glad to have her on my team. She really deserves this recognition from industry,” said John Smith, Deputy Chief of Staff for Information Management.
The Pragmatics-Loy relationship began in 1998 when the firm was contracted to support production of the command’s Annual report. Loy’s interaction with the company and her favorable reports on its performance assisted Pragmatics in winning additional work with the command and other clients.
“MTMC and industry are truly partners. It takes teamwork on both sides to have mission success,” said Smith.
Pragmatics credits Loy’s mentorship with helping the firm nearly double its size in the last five years.
Smith attributes the positive relationship to Loy’s management abilities. He said she is very successful at lining up the right industry partners to get the job done right.
