FORT EUSTIS, VA., (USTCNS) --- The Joint Deployment Training Center, Operations Directorate, U.S. Transportation Command, broke ground here on a new state-of-the-art training facility Sept. 25th.
As well as housing the Director and staff, the new 6,300 sq. ft. facility, will have two new classrooms. They will double the Center's capability to train personnel on a myriad of computer applications that define 'how' a unit deploys in support of a military operation.
Once completed the new facility will establish JDTC as the Department of Defense's "Center of Excellence" for the education and training of deployment applications.
The JDTC has developed standardized curricula to educate and train members of all Services and select government and non-governmental organizations in an effort to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of personnel to plan and execute joint operations and deployment of forces.
The JDTC annually trains approximately 3500 personnel from all Services. Fort Eustis has been the home of the JDTC since it's inception in 1997.
