Dail to Receive Third Star - Will Become Deputy Commander of USTRANSCOM

SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill., (Aug. 25, 2004 - USTCNS) --- Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the President has nominated Army Maj. Gen. Robert T. Dail for appointment to the rank of Lt. Gen. and assignment as deputy commander, U.S. Transportation Command.

Dail has been serving here as the Director of Operations, J3, USTRANSCOM for almost one year. His previous general officer assignments were Commanding General, U.S. Army Transportation Center, Fort Eustis, Va.; Commanding General, 3rd Corps Support Command, Wiesbaden, Germany; and Director for Logistics, J4, U.S. Joint Forces Command, Norfolk, Va. Dates for Dail's promotion and new assignment have not been announced.
