Hinderliter, a U.S. Coast Guard reservist, assigned to the USTRANSCOM Research Center, currently maintains the centers website and assists in historical research for the command.
He received the award for his work in the protocol office, where he served for three years until Oct. 2005.
I wouldnt have gotten this award without the teamwork that exists in the protocol office, Hinderliter said. I dont consider that it was just me who got the award.
Additionally, Hinderliter feels he won the award for his work during the USTRANSCOM change of command last year.
I was responsible for handling the lodging, the stage setup and the awards table setup, Hinderliter said. It was the toughest thing Ive ever done.
It would not have been possible without the protocol team, Hinderliter continued. They were amazing during the change of command. Were all winners.
