The "Warrior Citizen" Award, signed into law by President Bush in December 2004, recognizes all Army Reserve Citizen-Soldiers who excelled in the performance of their duty while mobilized in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
The Welcome Home Warrior-Citizen Award Program provides an appropriate, timely and enduring memento to Soldiers who have who have answered our Nation's call. It is designed to publicly acknowledge Army Reserve Soldiers, as well as their families who have supported them during their selfless service and sacrifice.
During the ceremony, Maj. Gen. George W.S. Read, commander, U.S. Army Reserve Readiness Command, presented each award recipient with an encased American flag, a specially designed commemorative coin and certificate, a lapel pin set for the Soldier and spouse, and a Welcome Home Warrior-Citizen flag.

It gives me great pleasure to acknowledge the sacrifices these men, women and their families have made in support of our nation, said Read. Their commendable efforts supporting the Global War on Terrorism have set them apart and their service will not be forgotten.
