Air Force Gen. Duncan J. McNabb, commander, U.S. Transportation Command will serve as host for the ribbon cutting ceremony to officially open to command's new facility Aug. 12 at 10 a.m. in Transportation Plaza. The guest list includes Defense Department leaders, as well as local and national civic leaders.

The new facility streamlines several operations and business functions, mandated and funded by the Base Closure and Realignment Commission. It will house USTRANSCOM's new Fusion Center, the Army's Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command, and the Joint Intelligence Operations Center - Transportation.
