It takes a lot more than just trains, planes, ships and trucks to keep the warfighter supplied. It is about relationships, collaboration and trust.
U.S. Transportation Command hosted Ms. Renee Roman, Executive Director of Operations & Sustainment (J31), Defense Logistics Agency, for a command introduction and strategic engagement visit. She met with a number of senior leaders, including Army Lt. Gen. Kathleen Gainey, deputy commander, USTRANSCOM, and Army Brig. Gen. Michael Lally, director of operations, USTRANSCOM, to learn more about how USTRANSCOM and DLA interact with one another.
“Relationship building is crucial to the Department of Defense logistics enterprise. It’s about taking it down to the basics and ensuring you’re all on the same sheet of music,” said Ms. Roman during her visit.
USTRANSCOM and DLA work together each and every day to ensure the US military is supplied and equipped to handle any mission requirement.
“It is important that our relationships are rooted in trust and we should strive to have that underscore every single interaction between DLA and USTRANSCOM.”
