Commander Publishes 2014 Strategic Guidance

USTRANSCOM ushered in the new year by publishing continuation plans and goals, General William M. Fraser III, U.S. Transportation Command Commander, signed the “Commander’s Guidance—Implementing the Command Strategy in 2014,” to officially assign command-wide focus areas goals and praise 2013 successes.


The new guidance continues to build on “Our Story, 2013-2017” command strategy that was implemented one year ago positioning our command to meet the ever-changing future environment.


Highlighted in the guidance are things we achieved throughout 2013 to include:


- Established an Enterprise Readiness Center (ERC), improved numerous multi-modal contract solutions and transportation plans, mainly in support of operations in Afghanistan.


- Improved the rationale used to fund and manage IT programs, systems and initiatives by developing an IT Roadmap, and forming Operation Blueprint Tiger Team.


- Created disciplined and transparent corporate governance process enabling more effective     decision-making.


- Improved our professional development programs emphasizing people and job-related skills.


Also included in the guidance are goals that we will accomplish throughout this year:


- Continue unwavering support for our warfighters.


- Execute the first-ever Global Campaign Plan for Distribution (GCP-D 9033).


- Adapt our IT portfolio to meet challenging operational and fiscal environments.


- Position command resources to best suit our ever-changing budgetary concerns.


- Grow in the way we work together and support our customers. 


It is important to continue making fiscally responsible decisions, understand our role, and identify areas where each of us can add value to our warfighters and stakeholders.
