Commander of U.S. Transportation Command Gen. Randall Reed and New Zealand Chief of Air Force Air Vice-Marshal Darryn Webb met Jan. 23, in Wellington, New Zealand, to reaffirm the close and enduring partnership between the United States and New Zealand.
Reed commended New Zealand for its valuable contributions to combined global military logistics and acknowledged New Zealand's critical, long-standing role in sustaining the U.S. Antarctic Program through Operation Deep Freeze.
Following their meeting, the leaders discussed future opportunities to strengthen interoperability and readiness. The talks focused on strategic alignment between the U.S. Department of War and the New Zealand Defence Force, expanding combined logistics exercises, and further collaboration to sustain Antarctica missions.
