Senior Executive Service induction ceremony at U.S. Transportation Command

SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. — U.S. Transportation Command hosted a Senior Executive Service induction ceremony Jan. 24 for Patrick Grimsley, U.S. Transportation Command’s Command, Control, Communications and Cyber Systems executive director.


Grimsley served in the U.S. Air Force from 1998 to 2004 and transitioned to federal civilian service in 2010 after four years working in the public sector.


Before his current position, Grimsley served as USTRANSCOM's senior cybersecurity advisor, focused on key cybersecurity issues. He also represented the USTRANSCOM commander and chief information officer at various national, Department of Defense, and industry committees and working groups.


Grimsley led cybersecurity assessments of information technology systems and software operated on the USTRANSCOM network, including preparing and delivering strategic communications to senior military leaders on cybersecurity and defensive cyber operations. His career includes developing cyber operations goals and objectives, implementing best practices, and deploying tools and solutions to enhance operational effectiveness.
