SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. (Feb. 23, 2022) – U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) is the DOD’s single manager for patient movement, providing DOD global patient movement through the Defense Transportation System. To exercise this responsibility, USTRANSCOM will conduct Ultimate Caduceus (UC22) starting Feb. 23, 2022, at Joint Base San Antonio, Texas.
The annual patient movement exercise will assess the capabilities of and provide field training to aeromedical evacuation teams, critical care air transport teams, medical staging functions and reception and onward movement functions for global patient movement. Approximately 370 military and civilian personnel will participate in this year’s exercise, including active duty and Reserve members and representatives from the Veterans Administration and the Texas Department of Health Services.
The exercise will conclude Mar. 8, 2022.
