SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. - Constant innovation is important to an organization that prides itself on evolving for tomorrow. U.S. Transportation Command teammates are creating new opportunities, particularly in critical areas such as cloud migration, big data initiatives, and the cyber domain.

Kevin Brisley and Navy Lt. Jason Pawlak of the Command, Control, Communication, and Cyber Systems Directorate (TCJ6) will receive the “Rising Star” Award at the Government Innovation Awards Dinner on Nov. 7. Brisley serves as the directorate’s senior human resource manager. He is receiving the award for providing program management to normalize the Directorate as it restructured to lead the command in cloud operations, big data initiatives, and cyber security and defense activities.

Pawlak, is a cyber-battle captain in USTRANSCOM’s Global Operations Center. He deploys defensive cyber forces such as USTRANSCOM’s cyber protection teams and other national forces to protect mission-critical assets and resources. Pawlak is receiving the award for improving standard operating procedures and log books to ensure consistent management of resources and repeatability of processes.

“Lt. Pawlak and Mr. Brisley both have made major impacts on TRANSCOM J6’s ability to accomplish our mission and meet the commander’s priorities. Both went above and beyond to innovate, drive change and a make a difference in the command,” said Air Force Brig. Gen.
