Twenty additional installations authorized for domestic GHC shipments

SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. — U.S. Transportation Command’s (USTRANSCOM) Defense Personal Property Management Office (DPMO), in coordination with the military services and U.S. Coast Guard, has authorized 20 additional installations to begin ordering Global Household Goods (GHC) shipments. Two of the installations began in mid-November with the additional 18 beginning in December.

November 2024 additions:

5.    Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho
6.    Moody Air Force Base, Georgia
7.    Fort Campbell, Kentucky
8.    Fort Johnson, Louisiana
9.    Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base New Orleans, Louisiana
10.    Naval Air Station Meridian, Mississippi
11.    Naval Air Station Fallon, Nevada
12.    Fort Drum, New York
13.    Fort Sill, Oklahoma
14.    Naval Station Newport, Rhode Island
15.    U.S. Coast Guard Base Charleston, South Carolina
16.    Goodfellow Air Force Base, Texas
17.    Fort McCoy, Wisconsin
18.    F.E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyoming

This brings the total to 94 GHC-live installations, meaning more than half of the installations in the contiguous U.S. have been authorized to order shipments under GHC before the end 2024.

This month, the DPMO also plans to activate all shipping routes between GHC-live locations and facilitate Personally Procured Moves (PPM) via the new MilMove government IT system for those who choose to perform a PPM when moving between those GHC locations. A separate release with information about these changes will be released by the command once details are finalized and the change is fully implemented.

As of Dec. 4, the DOD had sent 777 task orders to HomeSafe Alliance, the primary GHC contractor, for shipment requests submitted from GHC-live installations. HomeSafe has completed 330 deliveries.
