ALEXANDRIA, Va. (USTCNS) --- Transporters will have an easier time researching the weight and dimensions of the equipment they move.

No longer will they have a paper copies of "Standard Characteristics for Transportability of Military Vehicles and Other Outsize/Overweight Equipment," Technical Bulletin 55-46-1.

The Transportation Engineering Agency is creating a digital version of the technical bulletin - available either on compact disk or from the Web.

The digital process means a more economical method of distribution and greater accuracy for users. Revisions to equipment characteristics will be added immediately. Currently, the paper copy is only updated annually.

January's edition will be the last paper copy version.

The new digital version will include outsize and overweight equipment, Table of Organization and Equipment end-items and over 1,800 equipment images. It will also include data search capabilities and the ability to print only selected bulletin sections.

To obtain a CD version of TB 55-46-1, make a request via normal publication distribution channels using DA Form 12-99-R, Initial Distribution Requirement for Publications, citing IDN 344598.
