USTRANSCOM announces release of professional reading list
SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. (USTCNS) --- U.S. Transportation Command's Research Center announced the release of a transportation reading list here today.
The pamphlet, entitled "United States Transportation Command Professional Reading List for the Defense Transportation System," is designed to provide a comprehensive compilation of USTRANSCOM and other department of defense documents and related commercial products.
"The list is intended to guide readers, both inside and outside USTRANSCOM, to the most important literature dealing with USTRANSCOM and the Defense Transportation System," said Dr. James K. Matthews, director of the USTRANSCOM research center.
Readings include USTRANSCOM annual command reports, oral histories of former USTRANSCOM leaders, a wide variety of USTRANSCOM publications, key joint documents and significant trade-related private books.
"The inclusion on the list of works covering joint operations, planning, and policy issues will contribute to overall joint professional development," said Matthews. "The command intends to update the list annually."
