Privratsky's tour-of-duty at MTMC extended

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (USTCNS) -- Maj. Gen. Kenneth L. Privratsky will serve an additional year as Commander, Military Traffic Management Command.
Privratsky, who assumed command July 9, 1999, will now serve until the summer of 2002.
"This is my preference," said Privratsky, of the tour extension.
The announcement was made today (May 14).
MTMC commanders normally serve a two-year long tour-of-duty.
"I am very pleased to be able to continue working with the professionals of the Military Traffic Management Command and industry to improve support to the military community."
In recent speeches, Privratsky has told MTMC employees and outside groups he would like to continue his tour-of-duty.
Privratsky said the MTMC mission of worldwide freight distribution for the Department of Defense is extremely satisfying. Another factor, he said, is an extensive, on-going reorganization of MTMC. Major components of that reorganization are scheduled to continue through June 2003.
