Scott, Mildenhall to represent AMC for 2001 Chief of Staff Team Excellence Award

SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. (USTCNS) -- Two units were recently selected as Air Mobility Command's nominees for the 2001 Chief of Staff Team Excellence Award and Secretary of Defense Team Excellence Award competition.

The two nominees, the 375th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron at Scott AFB and the 727th Air Mobility Squadron at RAF Mildenhall, will compete against other major commands and AF units.

Air Force Chief of Staff General Michael E. Ryan will present awards to winners Sept. 14 at the Air Force Association National Convention, Washington, D.C.

The 375th AES, Scott AFB, delivers patients to and from approximately 600 hospitals and treatment centers in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean. The 375th AES scheduling office generates a flight schedule for more than 200 active duty and reserve nurses and technicians and 75 ground personnel for continental U.S. C-9A and C-21A AE missions.

The 727th AMS team, which is part of AMC's en route system, provides fixed and deployed maintenance, aerial port and command and control support to deployed command forces across the globe. The squadron, assigned to the 721st Air Mobility Operations Group, provides the necessary en route support for transient AMC aircraft. (FROM AIR MOBILITY COMMAND PUBLIC AFFAIRS).
