GRAND FORKS AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. (USTCNS) --- Air Force Gen. Charles T. "Tony" Robertson, commander in chief U.S. Transportation command and commander Air Mobility Command, cut the ribbon on the base fitness center addition here Aug. 24, making the center here the largest in AMC.

He called the $8.5 million renovation and expansion "certainly the newest and the very best in the whole United States Air Force." Behind these physical structures, Robertson said, lies "our commitment to you that we will focus on the things that affect, that improve the places where you work, where you live, where you eat, where you play and where you pray . . . We're doing our best to keep that commitment."

He encouraged the 300-plus audience to take a look at the base's three new refueling squadron operations air mobility units, the new dining facility, new dorms and housing, and renovations to the theater, Liberty Square and outdoor recreation.

"Everything is focused on people," Robertson said. "We want our people to know we value them so highly, that we'll go to almost any length to make their service and their quality of life in the Air Force as pleasant as we can make it."
