MTMC awards emphasize quality defense freight movements
The award program recognizes individual transportation firms that provide exceptional performance in handling Department of Defense freight shipments during 2001, said Jeanie Bell Winslow, program manager.
Nominations may be submitted on commercial firms providing transportation services via any mode.
"This is our opportunity to thank our industry partners for their tremendous work and dedication in support of Defense Transportation," said Winslow. "We succeed because of the superlative performance of our industry partners."
Nominations are encouraged from all Department of Defense shippers and should include a cover sheet with a brief, one-page narrative justification. The nomination must include a description of the firm's responsiveness to military requirements and address the potential for wider applicability of their service innovations and cost savings initiatives.
A panel of MTMC Headquarters transportation specialists will evaluate each nomination on the following factors:
· Customer Service: Quality of communications, efficiency of service, satisfaction of special needs, resolution of customer needs, teamwork, professionalism and appearance, overall service and accomplishments.
· Innovation: Improvement of service quality and cost savings.
· Scope of Contribution: Local impact and wider applicability.
