USTRANSCOM and AMC praised for super human effort

SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. (USTCNS)--- General Richard B. Myers, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, praised the work of U.S. Transportation Command and Air Mobility Command personnel in deploying troops, equipment and supplies to the Persian Gulf region during a visit here Friday.

“The real reason I’m here is to thank you for what you do. From where I sit, you’re smack dab in the middle of everything. I can only imagine how difficult that is sometimes,” Myers said. He went on to say that the key to success in any potential military actions will be the result of the “super human effort” on the part of USTRANSCOM and AMC.

“It’s pretty clear that the key will be to get the right things to the right places at the right time. And you make it happen,” he added. “You’re doing truly heroic work and lots of people understand that. My hat is off to you.”

Myers visited USTRANSCOM and AMC to see firsthand the role the commands are playing in the daily deployment of U.S. military forces and equipment around the world.
