USTRANSCOM wins e-Gov and Computer Week Magazine’s Enterprise Architecture Award
SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. (USTCNS)--- USTRANSCOM’s Defense Transportation System (DTS) Enterprise Architecture (EA) was awarded the Leadership in Enterprise Architecture Award from e-Gov and Computer Week Magazine.
The first annual Excellence in Enterprise Architecture Awards recognize practices in developing and implementing successful enterprise architecture. The awards selection committee judged nominations on the following criteria: successful enterprise architecture projects that are implemented and actively in use; a realized organization-wide use vice a limited user group, and E-government implementation or better customer service. Nominations were received from all levels of U.S. government, including federal, state and local organizations, and from U.S. and foreign private industries.
“This formal recognition of the DTS Enterprise Architecture by the professional community is a tremendous accolade for the DoD and USTRANSCOM. It attests to the critical role that architectures serve in understanding the enterprise mission processes and as an enabler of IT investment strategies in support of those processes,” said Ray Mosman, USTRANSCOM’s Chief, CIO Support Division. “ Our DTS enterprise architecture is a team effort of USTRANSCOM, our combatant commanders, services and agencies.”
USTRANSCOM’s DTS EA was previously awarded the Laureates Award from Computerworld’s Honors program in April 2003.
The soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines, coast guardsmen, DOD civilians, and contractors of USTRANSCOM provide the synchronized transportation, distribution, and sustainment which enables projecting and maintaining national power with the greatest speed and agility, with the highest efficiency, and with the most reliable level of trust and accuracy.
