Defense Enterprise Accounting and Management System software contract awarded to Oracle Corporation
SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. (USTCNS) --- The Defense Enterprise Accounting and Management System $22.7 million firm-fixed price delivery order was awarded to Oracle Corporation for commercial software on June 30. The firm-fixed price delivery order was awarded through the DODs ESI Blanket Purchase Agreement under General Services Administration Schedule.
With the award of the contract, the military will procure 60 developer licenses, 26,650 production licenses, four one-year priced optional maintenance periods and training, and familiarization training, according to a release from the Electronic Systems Center, Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass.
Using the Oracle software, DEAMS will implement a modernized, integrated accounting and financial system that is Joint Financial Management Improvement Program qualified. The DEAMS software package will produce fully auditable financial statements for the U.S. Transportation Command, Scott AFB units, and the U.S. Air Force.
According to the ESC release, the selection of a commercial software package allows the DEAMS program to next solicit industry through the Department of Defenses Enterprise Solutions Initiative Blanket Purchase Agreement for qualified Systems Integrators. The SI will be selected to implement the Oracle software solution for USTRANSCOM and Air Force general funds.
DEAMS will support and replace an array of existing financial processes to include the general ledger, budget distribution, fund control, budget execution, customer order and customer billing, collections, purchase request, obligation, receipt and acceptance, accounts payable, cost accounting, analysis and decision support and property. Improved financial visibility is important for USTRANSCOM as the DoDs Distribution Process Owner and the manager of the Defense Transportation System.
