SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. (USTCNS) --- Four members of the United States Transportation Command's Program Analysis and Financial Management Directorate (J8) will receive 2006 Individual Achievement Awards from the American Society of Military Comptrollers (ASMC). The awards will be presented in late May at the ASMC National Professional Development Institute training event, in Kansas City, Mo.

Winners and their categories are: Vicki Moffatt, resource management; Howard Steffey, contractor support; John Vollmer, budgeting; and Rose Wesolowski, education, training and career development.

"I was thrilled to learn that I won this award," said Wesolowski. "It means a lot to me to be recognized among such a talented and distinguished group of professionals.

"I am especially grateful for the outstanding leadership within J8, which gave me the opportunity to compete for this recognition," Wesolowski continued. "My leadership provides me with challenging and fulfilling assignments and gives me day-to-day inspiration and encouragement to succeed."

"We won four out of five categories submitted," added Bob Folen, J8 deputy director. "This is a fierce international competition. I believe it to be unheard of for one organization to have so many winners in the same year. My hat's off to them all."

The yearly awards are presented to recognize military members or civilians currently employed by the Department of Defense for outstanding accomplishment within one of the functional fields of comptrollership. Members or non-members of ASMC may be nominated. Individual contractors can only be nominated for an award in the individual category of Contractor Support.
