U.S. Transportation Command and its components will get star treatment Jan 14, 9 p.m. Eastern/8 p.m. Central, in a premier showing of Modern Marvels' show on "Packaging," which explores the technology and ingenuity required to create and sustain movement in what they call "our packaged world."
The piece features the USTRANSCOM, Air Mobility Command, Military Sealift Command and Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Center joint team is "Act 3" of the one-hour show, which Modern Marvels describes as follows:
"One massive global packaging effort literally takes an Army to get the job done. In fact, it takes an Army, Navy and Air Force. Meet the men and women of the U.S. Transportation Command - USTRANSCOM for short. Their gargantuan task is to pack and ship every single item required for all branches of the American military."
The show includes interviews with USTRANSCOM commander Gen. Duncan J. McNabb and component representatives, with footage taken at USTRANSCOM, AMC and SDDC at Scott Air Force Base, C-5s at Dover AFB, Del., and the loading of Army helicopters aboard MSC's USNS Mendonca at the Port of Baltimore.
