SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. (March 14, 2022) –U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) honored its 2021 outstanding military and civilian performers during an Annual Awards ceremony today.
Ten civilian and military service members were recognized for their performance and service to the community.
“I couldn’t be prouder of this organization. We have an amazing warfighting team and every day you are going the extra mile to complete the mission, not only in your job but in self-improvement and volunteerism within the community,” Air Force Gen. Jacqueline D. Van Ovost, commander, USTRANSCOM, said during the ceremony.
“Your efforts serving others both on and off base are inspirational. Thank you for what you do, day in and day out, for our command and for our national security.”
Navy Fleet Master Chief Donald O. Myrick, senior enlisted leader for the command, joined Van Ovost to recognize the accomplishments of the nominees. “This is a team sport – everyone working together toward a common goal and empowering our members to achieve their best. Linked to our nation’s warfighting readiness, it underpins our ability to project and sustain the Joint Force.”
The ceremony included USTRANSCOM teammates watching from various locations around the United States. The awardees were selected from a group of more than 59 nominees across 10 categories.
“Last year certainly was critical for TRANSCOM and our nation. It looks to be no different for 2022. Your efforts supporting U.S. European Command, NATO and Ukraine are making a difference,” Van Ovost said. “I am excited to see where your leadership and initiatives will take us. Keep up the outstanding work.”
